Scrum Spreadsheet Template – Scrum process template

Other versions

With the Work Item (WIT) reports and panels that are included in the Scrum process template, teams can plan projects and then track, view, and report progress.
If you connect to Visual Studio Online, you always have access to the latest version of the Scrum template.
If you connect to a local Team Foundation Server (TFS) deployment, the latest Scrum process template version is automatically loaded to install or upgrade a newer version of TFS. Use the Process Template Manager to download and load process templates.
In addition, teams have access to a set of comparative work item queries to track information, analyze progress, and make decisions.
Plan and track job through work item types
A work item corresponds to a database record that captures all information from the tracking team to manage your project. This includes the ability to assign, prioritize, specify estimates, change status, write information, and link to other objects or work items. Work item types define the field template, workflow, and format of each type. Linking allows you to track dependencies, job summary, and reports.
Teams plan their project by capturing features and requirements as outstanding work items (PBI). They track errors, work and lock issues using the WIT of errors, tasks and impediments. The features support a first level of portfolio management to visualize a summary of the outstanding work items of the product between the teams.
Types of Scrum work items
For more information on using these WITs, see Scrum Workflow Types and Workflow.

Search for work items by querying work items
To display the work items of a current sprint or the pending work of the product, use the shared work item queries that are provided in the Scrum template.
Shared queries (Scrum process template)
Use the Query Editor to apply other filter criteria and specify the queries that appear on the main page.
Suggestion Suggestion
Queries listed under the current Sprint folder are not updated automatically when a new sprint becomes the current sprint. The current sprint is specific to the team and is based on the dates that are assigned to the sprint schedules. You can modify these queries to use the @CurrentIteration macro, especially when accessing the query from the web portal. Some clients, however, do not recognize this macro as described in current Sprint.
Monitor progress through reports
The Scrum process template provides the following reports. For these reports to be useful, teams must perform certain activities, such as defining compilation processes, linking work items, and updating the status or remaining work.

Project Management Reports

  1. General information on pending work
  2. Evolution of the version
  3. Evolution of sprint
  4. Speed

Compilation reports

  1. Report of correct compilations
  2. Compilation summary

Test and error reports

  1. Availability of test cases
  2. Test plan progress

To access these reports, you must configure the collection of team projects with SQL Server Analysis Services and Reporting Services.
View progress through panels
The panels show the project data, enable research tasks, and help teams quickly accomplish common tasks. The following panels support the display of Team Web Access items to display work items and reports generated in the Analysis Services cube.
Version (Scrum)
In order to use the panels, you need to configure a SharePoint server and a project portal for the computer project.
